Eagles Can Find Long-Term Lane Johnson Replacement by Selecting This Player

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to address multiple needs during the 2026 NFL Draft, and just as Howie Roseman has done throughout his career, there's a lot of reason to trust him getting the job done. Roseman will have an opportunity to go after a few different needs, with the offensive line, tight end room, and possibly adding an edge being at the top of that list.

Kenyon Sadiq has been one of the top names to watch out for regarding who the Eagles could take with the 23rd pick. However, in Mel Kiper Jr.'s recent mock draft, he didn't have Philadelphia going that route. Instead, he had them selecting Blake Miller, an offensive tackle out of Clemson.
"23. Philadelphia Eagles Blake Miller, OT, Clemson The Eagles don't typically let future needs become current problems. General manager Howie Roseman is tactful in how he keeps the roster stocked with depth and future replacements. The question here, though, is whether Roseman will add the next in line behind receiver A.J. Brown (trade candidate) or offensive tackle Lane Johnson (turning 36). The value is better for the latter in this projection, and Miller is a perfect fit after playing over 3,500 snaps at right tackle in college," he wrote.
Miller seems to be a guy who could eventually replace some of the veteran players in Philadelphia, including All-Pro offensive tackle Lane Johnson.
Asking a rookie to come in and have any sort of impact at Johnson's level is nearly impossible, but if you can learn from one of the best to ever lace them up, this would be a great deal for Philadelphia.
Regarding the Sadiq pick, while he seems to be the best tight end in this draft, that doesn't mean there aren't other options out there for the Eagles to pursue. Kiper had them selecting another tight end, this one out of the University of Georgia, a program Roseman has proven he has a lot of trust in, as he's taken multiple of their players in recent years.

Delp's stats aren't going to wow you (20 catches for 261 yards and one TD in 2025), but he's effective with the ball in his hands and has some potential to his game. And the Eagles love the Georgia pipeline," he wrote.
