Dominguez remained in the game to run the bases, but Max Schuemann replaced him in left field in the bottom half of the fourth.

After the 3-0 loss, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reported that the 23-year-old had a left elbow contusion and will undergo a CT scan tomorrow in New York.

Dominguez was just promoted from Triple-A on Monday. What happens if he needs a trip to the injured list?

The most popular name for the Yankees to consider would be Spencer Jones. Fans are eagerly awaiting his Major League debut. Jones has tremendous power, but he's still a work in progress at the plate.

MoreRoman Anthony mightve been overhyped for Red Sox

This year at Triple-A, Jones has struck out in nearly 37% of his plate appearances while hitting seven home runs in 26 games. The Yankees will likely stick with Schuemann on the bench for a few days until Anthony Volpe returns from his rehab assignment.

Outfielder Randal Grichuk was designated for assignment this morning, so he's no longer an option.

Yankees fans want to see Jones succeed. But more news about the severity of Dominguez's injury is needed before the front office makes any roster decisions.
